POF shrink packaging film material has great development potential in China!

The shrinkage principle of POF shrink film is: when the polymer is in a high elastic state, it is stretched and oriented, then the polymer is quenched to below the glass transition temperature, and the molecular orientation is frozen. When the product is heated in the packaging process, the stress relaxes due to the thermal movement of the molecules, which restores the original state and causes shrinkage. This is designed by using the principle of stretching orientation of polymer molecular chain, and formed by the method of rapid cooling.

At present, the common shrink films on the market include PE shrink film, PVC shrink film, PP heat shrinkable film, POF co-extrusion shrink film, etc. In the big family of shrink packaging film, POF three-layer co-extrusion shrink film (POF-C3) is a new generation product that has gradually emerged and been accepted by people in recent years.

POF-C3 shrink-wrap film is a multi-layer environment-friendly and nontoxic shrink-wrap material, which is produced by co-extrusion blow molding process with PE and PP as main raw materials. Originated in Italy in the early 1990s, the main features of this product are:

1. High transparency and good gloss.

2. Good flexibility and easy use.

3. The shrinkage rate is large, and the shrinkage rate * can reach 75%.

4. Good welding sealing performance, high strength, suitable for manual, semi-automatic and high-speed full-automatic packaging.

5. Good cold resistance, can keep flexibility at-50℃ without brittle crack, and is suitable for storage and transportation of packaged goods in cold environment.

6. Environmental protection and non-toxicity. The main raw materials of POF-C3 shrink packaging film, including LLDPE (linear low density polyethylene), TPP (ternary copolymer polypropylene), PPC (binary copolymer polypropylene) and necessary functional additives such as slip agent, anti-blocking agent and antistatic agent, are nontoxic materials. It meets FDA standards and can be packaged.

In recent years, domestic production equipment and raw materials have been introduced, and more than 10 production lines have been put into production. However, the application of POF-C3 series shrink-wrap film in China is still in the initial stage, and its application scope is narrow, with an annual demand of about 25,000-30,000 tons. However, it has development potential in the fields of cultural and educational supplies, electrical appliances, medicine, food, etc. Besides being directly used for packaging, POF shrink film can also be used for printing after corona treatment.
